Guest Lecture: Stanford in Berlin - Innovation & Change. From The Humboldt Ideal to Silicon Allee. Three Centuries of the Diffusion of Innovations 2025 (🇩🇪)

I covered theoretical foundations (networks, institutions, and cooperation), but also micro-level strategies I believe are fundamental for innovators—whether you're a scientist, entrepreneur, or policymaker. We talked about Rocket Internet, TUM, CDTM, WHU, SPRIND, and Hinterland of Things, Parloa and much more. From 19th-century Gründergeist to the survival mindset of the post-war era, my core thesis for the 21st-century innovator in Germany is this: German innovators are developing a global entrepreneurial mindset—one shaped by COVID-19, the rise of LLMs, and a new wave of formalized serendipity through incubation networks, organizations, and programs.
